  • Account information: email address, first name, last name, and optionally a phone number.
  • Horse and activity data: horse profiles, work sessions, care records, feeding schedules, incidents, and photos you upload.
  • Usage data: pages visited and actions taken within the Service for the purpose of providing functionality (e.g. calendar default view preferences).

If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, first name, and last name from your Google account.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account.
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets).
  • Display your name to other members in shared properties.
  • Respond to support requests and feedback.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate HorseTracker:

  • SendGrid (Twilio): to send transactional emails such as account confirmations and password reset links. Your email address is shared with SendGrid for this purpose. See Twilio's Privacy Policy.
  • Google OAuth (optional): if you choose to sign in with Google, your authentication is handled by Google. We receive your name and email address. See Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Cookies and Sessions

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. This cookie is essential for the Service to function and cannot be disabled. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party advertising cookies.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on servers we control. We use encryption for passwords (PBKDF2-SHA256) and signed session cookies. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

6. Data Sharing

We do not share your personal information with third parties except:

  • With third-party services listed above, strictly to provide the Service.
  • With other users in shared properties (your name is visible to property members).
  • When required by law, regulation, or legal process.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data and associated records within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.
